Freezing

Looking for a possible solution/answer as I'm new to xLights, for the past 3 nights while working on a sequence the program has frozen... not necessarily while rendering, just simply making changes to a sequence etc... this freeze affects my computer, I cannot do anything... my mouse is frozen, keyboard, cannot get to the task manager, ctr-alt-del....NOTHING I end up doing a hard shutdown, would anyone happen to have any ideas??

age of computer / basics of what in it like ram and cpu
version of xlights

without knowing a lot of your pc id point the finger at video card drivers ... make sure there up to date
