So I went looking for a song that really “explained” the meaning behind Christmas lights, but I couldn’t find quite what I had in mind. So... I made one.
This is basically my answer to the people who ask, “Why do you put up so many lights?”
My song lineup is all over the place—from serious to completely ridiculous
—but I felt like something like this would be a solid addition to the show and a nice reminder of why we do all of this in the first place.
I used three coordinated matrices to help tell the story, but you definitely don’t need them to make the sequence work.
Some of the effects are definitely dialed in to my display (example, the expanding rings at the 2:45 mark). You can move that effect by adjusting the X and Y axis so it lines up for your display. Happy to answer any questions as you add this to your display.
