After Sequence Import Elements Won't Light Up Unless Clicked On First

I'm on Linux running xlights-2023.18 app image. I've had an issue where importing sequences or even opening a sequence I made a year ago requires me to click on elements for they will not display. So what generally happens is I open the sequence file and everything shows as I would expect. I click the Play button and while the bar starts moving and the music plays, nothing is rendering on the house model. However, if I click ahead of the bar on each of the elements, it will start to render correctly. I've never had this issue before but it's turning out to be quite annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a solution?

Hi @adamis
I would highly recommending posting on one of the facebook xlights groups. You will probably get some support much quicker.

I get it lots, I have to click on each effect to get it to render, even after clicking render all
I haven't been able to find a solution - seems to be hit and miss when it does it. I'm still back on 2022.14 version. It's usually in my bigger sequences that it struggles. All I can offer is sympathy and "I feel your pain".
You could try locking the effects that aren't working and then render twice, sometimes that works.

Hi, maybe it is related with the importing process. I have realized that now, when importing sequences, all effects are locked. I don't remember to be that way before. If effects are locked and the option to not to render locked effects is on, the sequence will not render unless you click on elements (that forces element rendering).
